QUESTIONAIRE – NOVI Survey
Survey completion time: Approx 15-20 minutes.
Introduction: Welcome to this survey and thank you for taking the time to complete it. There has been increasing media focus on concussion management and overall awareness of the risk of concussion has improved. This research survey is a part of a PhD project at Edinburgh Napier University and will help provide a much needed insight into the current medical management practices of the concussed youth athlete in Scotland. By completing this survey, you can play a part in improving the research base for the management of concussed youth athletes.
To complete this survey, you will be asked to provide details of your role in relation to the management of the concussed youth athlete and to also provide an approximate geographical location in Scotland. Geographical location options will be broad to ensure you remain anonymous. The term medical management is used throughout this survey and is used to encompass all stages of the response to a concussed youth by responsible individuals (Aged 16 and over) involved with the injured youth athlete. Medical management can be initiated by anyone who has concern for a youth athlete/ player in relation to a concussion, and so therefore questions relating to the medical management have been designed to include all eligible participants in this survey.
As a follow on from this study, I am seeking participants to take part in online interviews to further explore perceptions and experiences of the medical management of the concussed youth athlete in Scotland.
